In keeping with the group's forward looking direction, we offer additional ways in which you can buy and sell goods, which utilise modern technology.
The two methods are: Online Auctions and eBid@liveauction
A brief description of each is detailed below:
Online Auctions
Working in a similar fashion to ebay, our regular online auctions offer the opportunity to buy and sell goods through our website.
Online auctions work by a seller setting a reserve price on their lots for sale which registered bidders have the opportunity to bid on until the auction ends at a predetermined time, as indicated beside the lot's description.
The winner of the lot(s) is the highest bidder at the end of the auction (as long as the reserve price has been met).
Our online auctions are split into two categories
1) Agricultural Items (including machinery, livestock, fodder etc).
These auctions are conducted on behalf of Aberdeen & Northern Marts.
2) Non- Agricultrual Items (including Vehicles, Coins, Furniture, Tender Sales, Specialist Items).
eBid@liveauction is a software application allowing remote buyers to gain access and bid on selected live sales, direct from their office or home computer using the internet.
Every Friday, eBid@liveauction can be used for the fodder sales. Previous examples of its use include Single Farm Payment auctions and Property Auctions as well as many other examples.
