Each Tuesday Brettells hold their weekly General sales of approximately 400 lots of Victorian, Edwardian and later Furniture, China, Glass, Pictures and Prints, Metal ware, Electrical Goods as well as just a few special Collectable and Antique items to tempt the more specialist buyer.

Sale Times:

10.00 a.m. China, Glass, Metalware and Collectables, Pictures and Prints

11.30 a.m. Garden and Workshop Equipment, Electrical Goods

12.30 p.m. Victorian Furniture, Edwardian Furniture and Later Furniture

The many and varied lots are well laid out for pre inspection on the viewing days of Saturday from 9.00 a.m. until 12.00 noon and Monday from 9.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m.

Antique and Fine Art Sales
Brettells Antique and Fine Art Sales are held every two months and feature all the special items which have been carefully selected from House Clearances as well as individual pieces consigned by private vendors.

With our team of valuers specialising in their own area of expertise we can provide the best information on all antiques, collectables, antique gold and silver jewellery, china and glassware.

An illustrated colour Catalogue is prepared and published on the Internet as well as circulated to clients and dealers both local and further afield. Press advertisements in the major trade newspapers attract buyers from all over the UK and we have sold items as far away as Australia, Canada, USA and Europe.

Brettells has wide experience in auction sales for Victorian and Edwardian antiques and fine art with staff that have a wide knowledge of oil paintings, picture and prints. Brettells is also the leading auction house in the West Midlands for furniture sales and estate sales and has gained an excellent reputation for it sales of antique copper and brassware.

For those unable to attend the Sale, Brettells offer the option of Commission Bids which allow you to leave a maximum price on your chosen lots, up to which the Auctioneer will bid on your behalf. Brettells are also happy to deal with telephone bids if you prefer.

House Clearance Services

Brettells specialise in House Clearances and can help and advise you through what can be a stressful, difficult and emotional time. We will call out to see you free of charge to appraise a value and explain the likely costs and charges. Then allow you time to talk it through with the family to decide what you want to do and when you want it done.

We are able to completely clear a house from top to bottom - even down to cleaning the carpets if that is what you specify. We can arrange disposal of electrical items and even sort out the garage and the garden shed!

When the items arrive at the Saleroom, each is given your unique code number and then we deal with sorting it all into lots by our experienced and trained staff. The best items will go forward to the next Antique Sale, if applicable. The remaining items will be sold in our weekly General Sales.

10 - 14 days later you will receive your cheque for the total sale price less our charges, and haulage if applicable.
