J.P.Humbert Auctioneers Ltd of Burcote Road, Towcester have purchased Harp Auctioneers of Freehold Street, Northampton.

Both J.P.Humbert Auctioneers Ltd and Harp Auctions will continue to trade independently until September 2007 whereupon both salerooms will be incorporated under the J.P.Humbert Auctioneers Ltd title.

The buy out will mean that J.P.Humbert Auctioneers Ltd will be one of the largest auction houses in the Midlands with a combined sales are of over 10 000 square feet split over the two sites.

It is anticipated that the Towcester Salerooms will continue to run the well established monthly two-day 'Fine Art, Antique & Collectable Sale' and regular 'Specialist Sales' whilst the Northampton Salerooms will host a twice-monthly 'General Sales' to cater for the large number of house clearances, deceased estates, bankruptcy and family division the firm deal with.
